College & Elite Level Synchro Opportunties
Synchronized skating is the official team figure skating sport recognized by the International Skating Union (ISU). Since our program's inception in 2016, several Arctic Edge Unity Skaters have gone on to compete at both the US Figure Skating Collegiate and Team USA levels. Specifically through our competitive travel team pipeline, skaters can lay a successful foundation for high level competitive opportunities at AEU and beyond high school:

COLLEGIATE/COLLEGE SYNCHRO: There are over 35 colleges and university synchronized skating programs throughout the country (and the list continues to grow!) Teams represent everyone from the Ivy League to the BIG10 and beyond. Among the growing amount of collegiate synchronized skating programs, there are a few fully-funded, varsity programs and teams that also compete at the Junior and Senior level for Team USA. SYNCHRONIZED SKATING IN THE OLYMPICS? Synchronized Skating is on the path to becoming the fifth recognized discipline of figure skating in the Olympic Games. With great strides made in our sport's Olympic journey (the International Skating Union formally recommended the discipline's inclusion for the first time in 2015), many of the future first synchronized skating Olympians have already gotten their start!
Arctic Edge Unity is actively involved in supporting the growth and success of high level synchronized skating in the Metro-Detroit area. Skaters interested in how they can achieve their collegiate and elite synchronized skating goals can contact ArcticSynchro@gmail.com for more information.
