Arctic Edge Unity House Level Synchro Teams

Team Tryouts Social (1).png

House teams at AEU are designed to be an inclusive, accessible, fun entry point for skaters interested in synchronized skating. These teams can be used as a skill-building or social opportunity (or both!) and are a great way for skaters to learn the fundamentals of the discipline in a shorter format, lower-commitment season than AEU's Club or Travel levels. Skaters will get the opportunity to learn a routine and perform in costumes at 2-5 performances, including one local competition.

General Ages: 4-16 years

Great For: Introductory, Beginner, and Early Developmental Skaters

HOUSE TEAMS GENERAL INFO:

  • The House Team season generally runs from October thru February of each season.

  • House team registration will generally open April 1 annually and run through September 30 before beginning of season in October (skaters are not required to participate in a formal team placement session to register for a House Team, but must have an active US Figure Skating membership either through a Learn-to-Skate program or a Figure Skating Club).

  • House teams will perform 2-3 times at Arctic Edge and surrounding area and 1-2 local competitive opportunities in February of each season.

  • Registration includes completing all required forms/waivers for skater participation and a one-time, non-refundable $65 registration fee (which is applied to your skater(s) first season payment in October).

How to join a house level team:

There are multiple ways to gain more information and/or try synchronized skating before joining a House Level Team! See below for multiple options for getting involved.

  • OPTION 1: Attend an AEU Team Tryout/Placement Session (more information on upcoming available sessions HERE) - Though attending an official team tryout/placement session is not required to register for an AEU House Team, it is a valuable opportunity for new skaters to meet our coaches and try some synchronized skating skills and elements with other skaters in a single-session, collaborative and skill-building environment.

  • OPTION 2: Arrange a private or small group (1-3 skaters) evaluation with an AEU coach - Like an official team tryout, a coach evaluation is not required to register for an AEU house team, but can offer an in-person, more personal setting for 1-3 skaters/families to receive additional information and guidance on AEU House Teams. To arrange a private/small group evaluation, contact ArcticSynchro@gmail.com.

  • OPTION 3: Register your skater directly through the online registration link - As noted above, skaters who wish to simply register without participating or scheduling a team placement are welcome to do so using the standard House Teams registration link HERE.
