AEU Takes Gold at First Travel Competition

The AEU sectional level team took their first travel trip as a team out to the Foot of the Lake Synchronized Skating Classic in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin January 5-7, 2017. The team enjoyed a 6-hour chartered bus ride and had fun crafting spirited door signs for their hotel rooms and doing team bonding activities.

Leading up to the competition, the skaters had the opportunity to have a practice session on the official competition surface as well as enjoy some of what the surrounding area had to offer including some charming restaurants and a fun trip to the local mall!

Saturday, January 7 was competition day, where the team took GOLD with all first place marks from their panel of judges! After receiving their gold medals and checking out some of the cool vendors available at the venue, skaters and families loaded up the bus to return home. One last team stop at the Mars Cheese Castle was a blast before finishing our journey back to Canton.

We are so proud of their focus on their first long-distance, multi-day competition and were so excited to bring the gold medal back to Arctic Edge!
